Coventry, CT is a tranquil community in Tolland County that had a population of about 11,500 as of the 2000 Census.

First incorporated in 1712, this 38.4 square mile town includes several secondary communities, including South Coventry and Coventry Lake.

Today the town is home to several historical attractions, including the Captain Nathan Hale Monument as well as South Coventry Historic District.

In addition, Coventry has gained a reputation for the many entertaining community festivals it hosts each year, such as:

  • Strong-Porter Museum: Built around 1730, this museum is operated by the Coventry Historical Society.  IT features a carpenter shop, a barn and even a carriage shed.
  • Museum of Connecticut Glass: This newer museum is a salute to the state’s glassmaking industry.

In addition, a few shopping centers are located within the community, featuring such attractions as the Highland Park Market, a First Niagara Bank, a CVS, a Dunkin Donuts and a Walgreens.
