Freudenfreude: taking delight in someone else's achievement, the opposite of schadenfreude.
You may be familiar with Schadenfreude, a word of German orgin, that has gotten new attention after appearing in an episode of Ted Lasso. I ran across this word, freudenfreude, which aptly describes how I feel each and every day as the Broker of Home Selling Team.
Due to COVID 19, we have not yet hosted our agent recognition event this year. Typically, this would take place in February but we hope by May, with relaxed mask requirements and declining infection rates, we should be able to schedule our event and celebrate our good fortune and shared success. I am looking forwarding to recognizing every team member for their professionalism and the contributions they make every day for the collective good. 
The postponement of our special event doesn’t preclude me from sharing the great accomplishments of the HST agents in 2021, just in time for the spring market, when sellers and buyers are making the decision of who to hire to represent them in this important task.
This year we brought on a new agent, Robin Blomstrann, who had a terrific year, in spite of starting in the throes of a pandemic and historically low housing inventory. It was a challenging year for everyone and in spite of that, meetings were held and attended (remotely), appointments were made and kept (masked or virtually) and almost 300 contracts fulfilled. Many thanks to our clients and our community, who supported your local HST agents, also known as your fellow neighbors, board members, volunteers, parents, teachers, entrepreneurs, grandparents and friends.
